Overview
Overview
This sample study explores a kitchen for a household that cooks every day. Instead of a decorative island, the design puts every task along one continuous counter beneath a long window.

Storage, preparation, cooking and washing follow the order in which a meal is actually made. Tall units are gathered at one end so the rest of the wall can stay low and open to the view.
Drawers replace most base cupboards, so everything is reached by pulling rather than kneeling. Finishes are chosen to age well with daily use.

Challenges and solutions
Working within the brief.
- 01
A long, narrow room that felt like a corridor.
A single uninterrupted worktop and one material for all cabinet fronts make the length feel deliberate rather than leftover.
- 02
Heat and humidity from daily cooking.
The range sits on an exterior wall with a ducted hood, and the window above the sink supports cross-ventilation.
